Pleasing customers is what every company aims at, there are many ways to do it but the same strategies can not be applied to all the customers!

Young customers have a different approach towards advertising compared to others, therefore it is difficult for companies to make a space for themselves in their heart!

Companies put a lot of effort in order to attract young customers and one of the chief strategies is staying updated, be it in consideration to branding, marketing, advertising, or selling of the product. For all these factors to be satisfied we need to be aware of some terms that Gen Z (slang used for everyone born after the year 1996) is using these days!

Some of the terms have been prevailing for a very long time but being used in different ways in the present. Let’s dive deeper!

 

  • Direct Marketing - This refers to the business of selling products directly to the customers and not through retailers. Though this is not a new term it has gained some hype over the past few years when direct marketing as a concept has taken a big leap forward and attracted a large crowd.

 

  • Internet Marketing/ digital marketing - It is the component of marketing that utilizes the internet and online-based digital technologies such as desktop computers, mobile phones, and other digital media and platforms to promote products and services. This has been relevant since the shift of the business world to the internet but utilizing this concept with different forms of optimizations so as to promote your business has to be called a very recent phenomenon.

 

  • Market Research - Market research is an organized effort to gather information about target markets and customers: know about them, starting with who they are. It is a very important component of business strategy and a major factor in maintaining competitiveness. Now you might wonder that this has been practiced since the beginning of the business era but we need to remember the market is dynamic, many things have changed since then, the ways to perform research, consumer behavior, consumer demands, etc.

 

  • Public Relations - A strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their publics. All the processes that involve portraying the product to the public fall under this category. Advertising and marketing are two examples of public relations as it portrays the product directly to the customers. Recently many new strategies have been formed so as to strengthen public relations of different organizations, such as a review system where you send free samples of your products to people with large audiences and they review your products and broadcast them to their audience.

 

  • Social Media - Social media is the most powerful tool for anyone wanting to put their idea in front of the world and letting maximum people know about it. Be it a person or an organization, social media, if used properly can fetch you so much that a person can just dream about it! There are innumerable ways to use it effectively in order to gain the most out of it, and if you have a younger audience then this is the best platform for you, you can be as creative as possible, there is no stopping! The success of a website highly lies in the hands of SEO, which is definitely not a new term but it has been brought back to the hype in recent years!
