WHAT NOT TO DO WHEN USING SOCIAL MEDIA FOR BUSINESS

Start Reading

We all are attracted to social media and spend a large chunk of the day surfing through it.

Brands have used social media extensively to promote themselves, interact with the audience, get to know them, put their word out to the world, increase their visibility, and whatnot.

Daily, millions of new accounts are created on these platforms so as to promote the business yet only some of them get successful and there are many reasons why, but today we will be discussing some very common thing we shouldn't do while using it for business

IMPERSONATE SOMEONE ELSE

Trying to be something you are not might work for some time but will affect your brand reputation in the long run. Authenticity has always been appreciated, always will be appreciated, and it is still being appreciated. Be 100% authentic, it will be beneficial for you, your brand, and of course your customers.

SPAMMING

Posting regularly or frequently does not mean spamming. Spamming is when you post irrelevant content just for the sake of posting regularly, that is not the content your followers expect from you. Post content that is relevant to your business and from which your followers can gain something.

NOT INTERACTING

Not interacting with the audience, not engaging yourself with your followers is another big mistake and of course, shouldn't be done. Interact more with your followers through comments, quizzes, polls, stories, posts, and so many other features.

PAYING FOR FOLLOWERS

Again, not a good thing for your brand reputation.

Buying fake followers or asking people to follow you to get a surprise gift or other things, will result in low engagement. Whereas your real followers will be the ones who are there on your page to support you and find your content interesting.

NOT GOING THROUGH THE INSIGHTS/ ANALYTICS:

Analytics provide you with information like which post from your feed has the most reach, which has the most shares, how many people visited your page, how many out of theme followed you, what is the age group that is the most engaged on your page, etc. This information is very useful to know when to post what to post and to get to know your audience and find out where you are going wrong.

So these are the most common mistakes brands do which makes it difficult to be more successful. Make sure you don't do any of these and see the difference!
